AmEx & Dunkin’: Would You Like Some Cashback with Your Coffee?

Dunkin DonutsJust when you thought American Express was starting to run out of creative merchant partnerships, here comes the AmEx tie-in with Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants.

Use American Express to “auto-recharge,” or reload, your Dunkin’ Donuts Card, and AmEx will give you a 20 percent bonus on each auto-recharge transaction of $25 or more. That’s $5 for every $25. The Dunkin’ Card does not charge interest or fees.

The promotion for American Express cardmembers is available now through March 31.

“Through this great partnership, we will deliver added benefits to our Cardmembers, and they can now enjoy more coffee, muffins and donuts on us,” said Curtis Wilson, vice president and general manager, restaurant & lodging, American Express Merchant Services.

Dunkin’ Donuts Cards are available at participating restaurants across the country, and online at DunkinDonuts.com. Dunkin’ cardmembers who sign up for auto-recharge will receive additional perks such as exclusive in-store and online offers, and product news specific to their local market.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts has about 8,800 locations in 31 countries.

In addition to unique merchant partnerships, American Express is heavily promoting bonus rewards points through Dec. 31. AmEx is offering its Platinum Card members the chance to earn six times the membership rewards points, and Gold and Green Card customers five times the points, when they shop at a selection of 25 popular online retailers. They include the online stores of Gap, Macy’s, Old Navy and the card giant’s own portal, bonuspointsmall.com.
